First Step

On our website, you will find instruction on entering basic, demographic information regarding your loved one. This information will be utilized by the funeral director to generate a death certificate, which will enable us to begin the legal processes which must occur, prior to cremation. You will also have the ability to complete cremation authorizations online, another legal step, prior to cremation. If you have any questions during any part of the process, a funeral director will be available to assist you by phone, at any time. Once the cremation has been completed and death certificates are printed, you will have the option to pick up the cremated remains and certified death certificates from any of our locations or have them mailed to you, at an additional cost.

Our cost for cremation is $850. Additional mileage cost may be incurred, depending on the location of the deceased. In cases of greater-than-average-distance, it may take a little extra time for us to arrive to bring your loved one into our care. An estimated time of arrival will always be given to the person calling to notify us of the death. A direct cremation includes:

Information regarding Social Security benefits

The funeral home notifies social security about the passing of a loved one. However you will also want to be in contact with them as well, because you may be entitled to certain benefits. Social Security has a one time death benefit to a surviving spouse, or dependent child of $255. Additionally other benefits might be available if the family meets certain requirements such as: spouse over the age of 60, or minor children still residing in the home. This list of requirements is not comprehensive and we encourage you to contact Social Security administration for your individual circumstance.

You can contact them at their toll-free number, 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) or visit the office located at 1049 N. Academy Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80909 the local number is 1-888-880-0688. While you do not need to schedule an appointment doing so may reduce your waiting time drastically.
